Our Community Engagement Framework reflects our belief that inclusive dialogue and shared decision-making are essential to sustainable development. This approach ensures that community voices are not only heard but actively shape the way we operate.

Through a structured five-step methodology, we identify and engage stakeholders, share relevant information, listen to community concerns, and integrate their feedback into our planning and operations. We also maintain robust grievance mechanisms and provide regular updates to ensure accountability and trust.

This framework is designed to address a wide range of community interests—from operational and project risks to cultural heritage preservation and environmental and social impacts. By embedding community perspectives into our decision-making, we aim to create positive, lasting outcomes for all stakeholders.

Methodology

Step Action Items
Identify Stakeholders Recognize all affected communities and stakeholder groups, ensuring inclusive representation across social, cultural, and environmental dimensions.
Engage Stakeholders Implement a structured stakeholder engagement plan with regular consultations, workshops, and open forums to build trust and transparency.
Share Information Provide stakeholders with clear, accessible information on project risks, cultural heritage, environmental and social impacts, and proposed mitigation measures.
Listen and Integrate Enable stakeholders to express their views and concerns, and incorporate their feedback into project planning and decision-making processes.
Report and Resolve Establish grievance mechanisms and report back to stakeholders on actions taken, decisions made, and progress achieved.

Community Resettlement & Rehabilitation

JSW is fully prepared to undertake any relocation or resettlement of project-affected communities if a need arises. We are committed to:

  • Minimizing displacement wherever possible.
  • Transparent compensation, aligned with legal frameworks and community consultation.
  • Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) and Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRPs) for physical or economic displacement.
  • Fair grievance redressal systems, easily accessible to all affected parties.
  • Regular audits and social assessments to ensure accountability.
  • Culturally sensitive engagement with indigenous and local communities.
