Measuring Our Success

Risk Management

JSW Steel’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework provides a structured approach to identify, assess, and mitigate strategic, operational, financial, and ESG-related risks. Aligned with the globally recognized COSO framework, it integrates internal controls into business processes and combines bottom-up and top-down approaches. Local plants and corporate functions manage operational risks, while the Risk Management Committee (RMC) – chaired by an Independent Director – oversees strategic and macro risks.

Risks related to climate change, biodiversity, human rights, and cybersecurity are embedded in the enterprise risk register. Periodic risk assessments, scenario analyses, internal audits, and cross-functional reviews ensure proactive mitigation. Risk ownership is decentralized across business units, supported by strong governance and oversight from senior leadership and the Board. This approach safeguards shareholder interests, ensures compliance, and enables sustainable growth. We recognise that emerging and identified risks must be mitigated to protect the interests of our shareholders and other stakeholders, achieve business objectives, and enable sustainable growth.
