Measuring Our Success

Supply Chain Sustainability

At JSW Steel, Supply Chain Sustainability is integral to our operational excellence and achieving our ESG commitments. We view suppliers as key partners and build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with those who share our values of ethical conduct, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.

Our Supplier Code of Conduct, aligned with UN Global Compact principles, mandates compliance with human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption practices. Suppliers must prohibit child labor, forced labor, and discrimination while ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and freedom of association. We are proud that 100% of input materials are sustainably sourced, with focused efforts to empower MSMEs – approximately 5% of inputs come from MSMEs while 2.8% of procurement is localized within operational districts, strengthening local economies.

To embed sustainability deeper into procurement, we have launched a phased Supply Chain Assessment Program for critical suppliers, incorporating ESG risk evaluations during onboarding and re-evaluation. These assessments, overseen by executive management, enable proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement.

Supplier Code of Conduct

Before engaging with suppliers, JSW Steel conducts thorough assessments to ensure compliance with legal, health, safety, and ethical standards.

Supply Chain Sustainability

We actively manage risks related to social and environmental impacts across our supply chain and prioritize partnerships with suppliers demonstrating strong sustainability practices. To support this, we train procurement teams and suppliers on sustainable purchasing and prevention of adverse environmental impacts. Sustainable procurement objectives will also be integrated into buyer performance reviews.

Supply Chain Assessment

JSW Steel has introduced a comprehensive Supply Chain Assessment Program to evaluate and enhance sustainability standards among key suppliers. Implemented in phases, this initiative promotes transparency, identifies improvement areas, and drives positive change across our value chain.

In FY 2024-25, we achieved a major milestone by completing ESG assessments for 90+ key suppliers, representing 35% of total procurement spend.

To amplify impact, we conducted sustainability awareness sessions for suppliers and buyers and integrated ESG principles into sourcing strategies and decision-making.
